Sepi…

Sepi, A New Local Movie by Kabir Bhatia

Simple. Organik. Ciri-ciri desain bercitarasa aku sendiri. Oh, nampaknya sedikit melalut. I can’t help it though… :p

Sepi: Synopsis

I don’t want to spoil the fun out of it. But then again, ini masih filem Melayu.

Jangan biar Kabir Bhatia SEPI tanpa cabaran.

Something Big

June 26th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Graphic Design, Me, My Life & I

Something Big

Here’s an announcement.

Something is coming up. Something that I am excited about. Something I am hoping I can pour all my effort onto. Something BIG. Nothing extravagant, but something big. Not anything that is large is the physical sense. But large in terms of its affect. Well, at least of how it is going to affect me personally.

The world ain’t gonna stop rotating. This might not be something you’ll get excited about. But it does give me something to look forward to every time I wake up to a new day.

The Summer Holiday Project

June 24th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Graphic Design, Me, My Life & I, Travel

It’s summer again folks! Yeah, I know this place (Malaysia) have sunshine all year long. But what we don’t have here all year long is my friends who are currently studying in the northern hemisphere. Yeah, those freaks came back to Malaysia every year.

It’s a good thing though. Because during those three months holiday we are able to catch up and have a little bit of fun after the long and tiring study at university. It has been something that I have been looking forward to for the past few couple of years.

This year, plans have been readied to make a trip to Colmare Tropicale and Langkawi. I might make another plan for Tioman Island too.

Anyone else care to join us?

Siti Nazziera & Fazli, Kedah.

To be honest, when I was going to their wedding, I wasn’t expecting much. Well, I was expecting to have some fun and see something new in Kedah. But other than the usual, I wasn’t expecting that I will like my shots from their wedding so much!

I do, I really do love the shots of those two! The feeling and the look of their pictures are just quite different for me. Just FYI, this is my seventh experience shooting a wedding. I agree that I am still new in the whole wedding photography stuff, but this one just feel different.

As a photographer, I really appreciate it that we were treated by the host family to their best. They provided us with all we needed. The hotel was great. The food was great. The co-operation was great. Yes, I felt welcomed by them, probably when I had my first ever Nasi Alumi/Amuni (oh, I just can’t recall its name… it sounded too foreign to me  ). I don’t feel alienated. I don’t feel like an uneducated low-life scumbag whose looked down by everyone simply because I lug around a huge camera and snapped pictures like crazy. I felt good inside. Maybe that was what made this wedding felt different to me. Maybe this is why their pictures have a different vibe to it.

This experience is just great. Kak Siti and Fazli, I wish that you’ll both live happily together. I looked forward to hear back from you guys.

For now, feast your eyes on these monotone edited version of your piccas. Till then, cheerio! ;-)

Fuel Price Increase

June 5th, 2008 | 2 Comments | Posted in Me, My Life & I

I just got back from Putrajaya and guess what? I managed to fill in the tank full, at a RM 1.92/L price. =) Siap tumpah-tumpah lagi. Hahaha! I’m saying it almost as if  nobody else managed to… Oh boy, well, guess that’s the last time I’ll ever be able to do so.

Starting 12.01 am local time just now, petrol are sold at RM 2.704/L. That’s an increase of about 40% making the price of petrol here in Malaysia almost comparable to our neighbors. There’s a lot of issues regarding the price hike. I don’t really feel like elaborating on them. I’ll let you google them and have your own say about them lah.

Cheis… baru shj ingat nak beli kereta untuk diri sendiri. Tp, kalau dah kos minyak mcm ni, hampir-hampir pasti the only affordable car for me is a kereta sorong or kereta troli. Adeih, mcm mana nak ke tempat klien lepas ni. Harus lah terus dgn public transport nampak nya…

Adeih…

A Nice Little Trip To Kedah

June 5th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Travel, Wedding Photography

Alhamdulillah, I am safely back from Alor Star last morning. Arrived in my room sweet room around 6 am. It was a tiring 5 hours drive from Alor Star. Heck, it was the first time I ever drove back all the way from Kedah to Kuala Lumpur! But thank god everything went well, and thanks to Kak Jun too for bearing her sleepy eyes with me all the way. If not, I might not have made it too. :))

Oh, did I mentioned I went there to shoot a wedding?

Yes, I do travel outside of Selangor to shoot wedding. In fact, I love to travel! It’s a great pleasure for me to be able to see new places and meet new people.

The couple this time is Siti Nazziera & Fazli. I second Juniza Zamri as the main photographer. Kak Siti is a lecturer at UM. I wonder if any of her students visits this site… All in all, both are a really fun and groovy couple (albeit a bit shy at first). Later that evening, we went to a bendang (a paddy field) and went crazy… Hahaha!!! Truly, we had fun that evening. =D

Here’s a sneak peek to their shots. Hope you’ll like em. ;-)

Life’s Journal

May 27th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Me, My Life & I

It’s been a couple of weeks since I last wrote something. I hadn’t been feeling well lately. However, the development process of this blog is still ongoing, albeit being a little too slow.

Up till now, there’s 27 pages in this blog, many of which is still hidden (they are still under construction so there’s no point for you to look at them anyway). This number might add up to around 30-35 pages in the next few weeks. If I were to commission a web designer to do all this for me, it would’ve amount to a few thousand ringgit already. Well, it is only right for them to charge as much because it is a not so simple process, this web-building thingies. I’ve went through it, so now I can say that I know it. =) Its just that at this moment, I’m not ready to pay that much. I still need to channel my money into buying that must have wide angle and the Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 VR lenses.

I’ve been adding a few more links in the sidebar, some widgets, and also finally a shoutbox (yeay!!! =) ). And on top of that, my shoutbox is also a lot more better looking than Daniels! Heheh, I beat ya on this one bro. ;-) Btw, I got my shoutbox here just in case you want one good looking shoutbox for your wordpress too.

My main concern about this blog is the image presentation part. Hey, this is a photographers blog, what do you expect? The gallery part prove to be a headache. I’ve tried so many types of gallery widget already (oh yes I’ve tried Slickr, WP-Simpleviewer, Wp-flickr, NextGEN etc) but I haven’t made up my mind yet as to which one is best. But I will have to eventually wind up with one of them, and right now SimpleViewer by Airtight coupled with a Highslide seems to look best. Come back some time soon and see on what I decided lah folks. ;-)

Anyway, I also had some problem deciding on the layout. This is the second layout for the whole blog. The first one was the Hemingway layout. I really like the HemingwayEx layout and almost settled for it, if not for its not-so-friendly mainpage layout that only allow two post to be shown, side by side instead of the usual all the way down navigation style. (Oh I really hope you folks get what I am trying to say…) But the slidebar is just totally awesome! Have a look at the HemingwayEx styling in Nalin Makar’s blog.

So in the end I settled down for this layout which is more navigation-friendly and very simple. Some people pointed out that it is too simple. Well, thanks for the comment but I am going to defend this styling simply because, I am still, a very simple person. But do expect a groovier layout somewhere in the future though. ;-) I do keep record and take into account of all that you peeps are saying.

Ah, so all the MMU peeps are gone, leaving only me and my roommate in our apartment. I went out on the balcony last night and saw that very few lights are turned on on the other block. Sigh… this place is seriously overpopulated by MMU students… But i guess that their leaving is a good thing because now this place is a lot more quiet. Before this you can always hear those noisy foreigner student who lived their life without any regards of the other residents here shouting in the friggin middle of the night when their football team scored a goal. Go watch those football match at a mamak stall lah please… Some people are trying to get some sleep lah dude…

I’m sorry that this entry is picture-less. I do have something stored in my hard disk that I am dying to show you guys, and because I’m all pink and healthy now, I’ll try my best to have them up within this week.

So that’s all for now folks!

Keep on clickin and rockin!
